Solem Quartet brings Industry to Kelham Island Museum in Sheffield, presented by Music in the Round. The programme combines string quartets, folk songs and archive and field recordings to explore Britain's industrial communities.
My music includes The Water of Tyne, an arrangement of the Northeastern folk tune; Be nice to see you, a setting of my parents' voices; and Without knowing exactly why I found my eyes running over, a set of pieces reflecting on church music and communality.
I'm touring with the quartet as multimedia facilitator for this programme of live music and recorded sound.
