Solem Quartet brings Industry to Kelham Island Museum in Sheffield, presented by Music in the Round. The programme combines string quartets, folk songs and archive and field recordings to explore Britain's industrial communities.
The first in a series of performances of a blended programme of music, field recordings, and folk songs, in the theme of Industry. The programme features my arrangement of the Northeastern folk tune Water of Tyne, the setting of my parents' voices Be nice to see you, and a new set of pieces Without knowing exactly why I found my eyes running over, which reflect on church music, communality, and weeping.
